Central Seminary is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Riley as Assistant to the President.

Riley will perform administrative duties including oversight of student services, preparation for special events, and management of non-academic staff. He will also function as classroom instructor from time to time.

Well-experienced in the field of higher theological education, Riley brings both administrative and academic credentials. He holds a B.A. from Bob Jones University and an M.Div. from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as both instructor and academic dean at International Baptist College in Chandler, Arizona. At present, he is on the verge of candidacy for the Ph.D. in Apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary, and intends to craft a dissertation on the apologetics of Cornelius Van Til.

Michael and his wife, Alicia, plan to relocate to Minneapolis from Allen Park, Michigan, in late January 2011, following the birth of their first child. In the interim, Michael will spend some weeks on campus, commuting over weekends, and others working from home via computer.

“I’m excited about Michael coming to our campus,” says Kevin Bauder, president of Central Seminary. “We had a number of very qualified applicants for this position, but Michael’s education and experience make him the best choice. I’m particularly happy that he already knows and shares our values.”
