| Central Seminary Appoints New President |

Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Minneapolis, Minnesota, has announced the appointment of Sam Horn as its fifth president. The appointment was made at the annual board meeting on May 13. The new president will officially assume his responsibilities in July. Sam comes The new president has earned doctor’s degrees from two institutions. He holds the Ph.D. in New Testament from Bob Jones University and a D.Min. in expository preaching from the Master’s Seminary. The seminary’s board began its search for a new president when Kevin Bauder resigned from that office in November of last year. The board appointed a search committee that contacted a number of potential candidates. Eventually Sam emerged as the most promising candidate. After several interviews with the search committee, the Central Seminary faculty, and other interested parties, he was recommended to the board in early May. On May 13th at its annual meeting, the board of Central Baptist Theological Seminary voted unanimously to appoint Sam to the presidency of the seminary. In conjunction with his new role, the new president will continue his teaching ministry at Northland International University. The board anticipates a seamless turnover as Bauder steps out of the presidency and Horn steps in. Since Bauder is staying with Central Seminary as a research professor, he has agreed to assist in the transition. Continuity is also provided by Dr. Matt Morrell, chairman of the board and pastor of Fourth Baptist Church where Central Seminary is housed. Possibly Related Articles |
