Doctor of Ministry
You've been in ministry long enough to know what you do well and what you don't. You want to sharpen your strengths. You also want to remedy your weaknesses. You've already been to seminary, and besides, you wouldn't want to leave your current ministry to go back to school. What can you do?
If you find yourself in this situation, Central Seminary's Doctor of Ministry program may be for you. Central Seminary's D.Min. brings you into a fellowship of learning without requiring you to abandon active ministry. It gives you the opportunity to strengthen your core competence in biblical and theological knowledge while sharpening your skills for the hard work of ministry.

Master of Arts in Theology
Like the Master of Divinity degree, the Master of Arts in Theology is an academic, graduate degree designed to develop within the student a theological soundness along with an appropriate heart for God, His people, and the lost. At Central Seminary, the student can choose one of two concentrations in the MAT program.

Master of Divinity
Those students who have received the Bachelor of Arts degree or its academic equivalent from a regular four year college or university may receive the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree. A candidate for the degree of Master of Divinity must complete three full years of prescribed graduate theological study with a grade point average of at least a C (2.0). Transfer of credits from other institutions is permitted, but a minimum of the last 32 hours must be taken at Central Seminary. Identical required courses taken in a Bible College may be waived. See Waiver of Course under Academic Policies in the catalog.
The curriculum is designed so that the student will have enough elective hours to emphasize an area of special interest. Some areas that may be emphasized, other than the pastorate, are counseling, missions and youth ministries. Women may enter this program but in accordance with Central's commitment to biblical truth must substitute alternate courses for homiletics, expository preaching, pastoral theology and church administration. The program must be completed in five years.

Master of Theology
The Master of Theology (Th.M.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees are complementary. The Th.M. leads into and complements the Ph.D. program, and the Th.M. is an alternative for those who do not do adequate work in the Ph.D. program.
There is no difference in the requirements for Th.M. and Ph.D. courses or credits, and both programs are graded in the same manner. All Th.M. credits may be applied toward the sixty hours required for the Ph.D. program if the student continues into the Ph.D. program, if the student receives a grade of B or above for the course, and if the course fits in the student's Ph.D. program.
The Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree is not simply a "teaching degree," although those entering a teaching ministry will want to pursue it. The Th.M. program emphasizes an intensified study of the Bible, theology, and related subjects. Those completing the Th.M. degree can expect a broader and richer ministry in the Word of God wherever they may serve.
