Please let me extend to you a warm welcome to the website of Central Baptist Theological Seminary. I mean it when I say that we are delighted to have you stop by and take a serious look at what Central Seminary has to offer. Our goal as a seminary is to equip a whole new generation of servant-leaders who can think theologically, preach expositionally, and minister redemptively in the real world of need.

Central Seminary was birthed in 1956 under the strong leadership of Dr. Richard V. Clearwaters, our founder and first president. For more than 45 years Central has equipped hundreds of our graduates who are serving around the globe as pastors, church planters, missionaries, evangelists, educators and biblical counselors.

The components of our vision for ministry which we emphasize most are as follows:

1) A Theological Base Truth sourced in sound theology and the exegesis of Scripture. 2) A Missional Heart Graduates who are passionately committed to the mission Jesus and His apostles mandated in the New Testament. 3) A Global Vision A Great Commission perspective. 4) An Intellectual Excellence The fullness of the Spirit and scholarship are compatible because the Holy Spirit is “the Spirit of truth.” 5) An Expositional Focus The exposition of truth through the working of the Holy Spirit is regenerational, liberational and transformational. 6) A Doxological Motivation Everything in life and ministry must be evaluated on the basis of whether or not it will contribute to or detract from an appreciation for the glory of God.

In capsule form, Central Seminary is all about the exaltation of God, the exposition of truth, the explosion of mission and the expectation of eternity (2 Timothy 4:1-8).
